We have a number of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working at the Practice, who are employed by the East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership. It’s all part of the Scottish Government’s work to give GP Practices time to spend with more complex patients, who need help from a GP.
The Practice pharmacy team do a range of tasks including ‘medicine reconciliations’ which is when hospitals send us a new list of medications for you to take (or stop taking) when you leave hospital. Our Practice pharmacists sort all of this out, including adjusting your repeat prescriptions as needed.
They can also help if you have queries about your prescription, including arranging dosette boxes for patients who need help to keep track of the medications they need to take each day. Our Reception team may if needed arrange a consultation for you, with the pharmacy team.
