Cancelling appointments you don’t need helps us to improve access for others

We’re continuing our work to reduce the number of ‘missed appointments’ we see at the Practice as much as possible. Missed appointments are when patients have an appointment booked for them but then don’t attend.

In December 7.5% of pre-booked Practice appointments weren’t attended, creeping up from 6.5% in November. 55 booked GP appointments weren’t attended – that’s over 2.5 days worth of GP appointments! Maybe this was due to everyone being busy over Christmas …

It’s still a huge improvement on July when we started this piece of work (when almost 12% of pre-booked appointments weren’t attended) but we need your help to stop it going up again!

If you have an appointment that you can’t attend or no longer need, please cancel it so we can give the appointment to another person in your community who needs it. You can cancel your appointment:

– By replying to the text appointment reminder we send you (if we have your mobile on file)

– By emailing us

– By calling us on 0300 790 6266

– At the front desk

Patients can also help by making sure we have their up-to-date mobile number so we can send you text appointment reminders. If you have a new mobile number (or we don’t have your phone number) you can let us know by filling in this online form: www.theriversidepractice.co.uk/update-your-personal-details
