Mental health

Call 0300 790 6292 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm) to book an appointment.

If you’re feeling anxious, depressed or have other worries about your mental health, call the health board’s CWIC Mental Health Service to book an appointment with a mental health professional. To read more about a separate counselling service for people who are deaf or hard of hearing click here.

You don’t need a referral from a GP or other health professional before you call. It’s for anyone aged 17 years 9 months and over.

The CWIC Mental Health Service work closely with us, other mental health services and third sector organisations to help you get the right support for your needs.

The team will take your details and book you an initial 30 minute appointment with mental health professional. Appointments can be by phone, NearMe video consultation or face-to-face (restrictions permitting) at either the Musselburgh Primary Care Centre or East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington.

They’ll then assess you over the phone, provide help and support and sometimes a referral on to other services.
